My first collection of poetry. Raw and dislocated as to how I feel my poetry reads today. But necessary, as I think all poetry must be.
This book is full of symbols and currents that lived in me without context until finding the Gene Keys. This collection was a critical part of my journey into sobriety not just from booze, but from sentimentality, volatility and victimhood.
I love these poems. They will forever remind me the highest purpose of suffering is found through the creative process.

Keys to Freedom | Lawrence Mack | Substack
<aside>
The name Keys to Freedom grew originally from this Substack where I document my personal explorations and contemplations through the Gene Keys.
There is no schedule to these as they rise and fall with the ebbs and flows of my own life and what I have space for.
They continue to be one of the most important spaces for me to integrate DLs, realizations and awakenings I have through the Gene Keys.
They’re standalone creations that together follow the arc of my own journey home.
The best thing I can hope for them I think is that they are relevant and resonant. Some of my favorites are below. Thanks for reading.
